Learn to Scuba Dive

Learning to dive is fun and easier than you think. Come breathe underwater with us and discover the magic of the ocean with Houston’s only scuba training facility recognized as a post-secondary school by the U.S. Department of Education.

Located in Houston, Divetech serves the entire Houston metropolitan area, including Katy, Pearland, The Woodlands, Sugar Land, League City, Pasadena, Clear Lake, Spring, Tomball, and surrounding communities.

With over 30 years of experience, our professional and patient instructors focus on both safety and fun, helping divers of all ages and experience levels start their scuba journey.

As an SSI-authorized training facility, Divetech offers:

  • Small classes with experienced instructors

  • Training in a large heated indoor pool

  • Flexible schedules to fit busy lifestyles

  • Programs for beginners through advanced divers

Private classes for individuals and groups are also available.

Getting Started Is Easy

  1. Choose one of our available class start dates

  2. Complete the registration documents

  3. Pay tuition to reserve your spot (CC authorization form) and access the SSI Digital Education System

Open Water Certification: $525 per person

This includes:

  • SSI Digital Online Training materials

  • Tanks, regulator, and BCD for all pool and open water training sessions

After registering, SSI will email you instructions to create your account for the SSI Digital Education System, where you'll complete course sections, watch videos, and complete quizzes before your first class.

Personal Equipment Required

Students must provide the following personal gear:

  • Scuba mask

  • Snorkel

  • Fins

  • Dive booties

  • Weight belt and weights

  • Mask defog

  • Two mouthpieces

  • Safety whistle

  • Surface marker buoy

Our staff can help you select properly fitted equipment.

Continue Your Diving Adventure

Once you complete your Open Water certification, the adventure doesn’t stop there.

Divetech offers a full range of SSI Specialty Courses, allowing you to expand your skills and earn continuing education ratings such as:
